Here are some pictures of the typical transmitting
equipment used by EMR over the years, from the early low-power
"field" transmitters, right up to the Ulbroka transmitter used
by EMR today.
The pictures below show the "Storm" 100 kilowatt
transmitter and the associated 8000khz antenna system. This
transmitter is operated by KREBS-TV and is located in Ulbroka,
Latvia. 100 kilowatts is a lot of power - to consider just how much
power, just think of the cost of the electricity to run this
transmitter. This is the
transmission facility used by EMR today.

| The Ulbroka 100kW transmitter is just a little too big to setup in
a field, not to mention the fact it would take an awful lot of car
batteries to power the thing!
