The official EMR website.

Two of the most popular programmes on EMR were the Mailbox and DX shows, and here's some pictures of Bob and AJ. The mailbox programme was produced in Bob Tomalski's own studio. Bob used the name Roger Tate on the air, and this studio was also used for London's Soul station - Radio Invicta - not to be confused with today's Independent commercial FM station with the same name.

Bob tweaks the dials in the studio. This was one of the best-equipped pirate radio studios of it's day.

Here's Bob looking serious. No doubt he was thinking "that's an awful camera you've got there, mate".

Bob became famous in later years, as a technical journalist, and as a TV and Radio personality. Bob wrote for a number of UK "gadget" magazines, and was a Sky TV presenter as well as a radio personality on various UK (legal!) stations.

Sadly, Bob died in 2001.

Another shot of Bob in his studio, taken through the studio window. Yes, he had a studio window! AJ Beirens, presenter of the EMR DX shows, famous of course, for his DX shows on RNI.
